Painting the Future was founded in response to Russia’s full-scale war on Ukraine and the urgent need to support children affected by forced displacement. Working alongside Ukrainian artists, teachers, and community partners, we provide creative opportunities for refugee and internally displaced children through art workshops and programming.

Art offers children a powerful way to express themselves, process difficult experiences, and reconnect with joy, imagination, and hope. Through painting, drawing, and other creative activities, children are encouraged to explore their emotions, build confidence, and experience moments of peace and healing.

What began as a small effort to provide art materials and workshops in Ukraine quickly revealed the transformative impact of creativity. Inspired by the resilience of the children we met, we established Painting the Future as a U.S. 501(c)(3) nonprofit dedicated to expanding access to art and supporting local artists who lead these programs.

Through trusted partner organizations, we sponsor art workshops and creative programming that work directly with displaced children and families.

From September 2022 through December 2025, Painting the Future served 500+ displaced children in Ukraine and the United States. By June 2026, that number had grown to more than 800 children through 55 art workshops. We have also donated art supplies to support ongoing creative expression beyond the workshops themselves.

Proceeds will help fund future art workshops and creative opportunities for displaced children.
