Typhoon Halong have hit Alaska hard mainly in the remote parts of Alaska. The storm has killed one person, left two missing, displaced hundreds and destroyed or damaged dozens of homes, especially in the hardest-hit communities of Kipnuk and Kwigillingok. A lot of the towns hit by the storms do not have major road and can only get out by boat or air. They are looking at a time of at least 18 months for starting to get back into their homes. We have no target goal only the goal of helping as much as we can.

The Alaska Community Foundation, an Anchorage-based nonprofit, has partnered with organizations serving people throughout the Yukon-Kuskokwim Delta region, Norton Sound and the Northwest Arctic to funnel financial donations to people affected by the storm.

The Alaska Community Foundation is partnering with the Alaska Federation of Natives, the Association of Village Council Presidents, the Alaska Native Tribal Health Consortium, Yukon Kuskokwim Health Corporation, Kawerak, Inc. Maniilaq Association and a number of other local, regional and statewide groups.

We are at at time where we can focus our nerdy community on this effort to help Alaska, Lets give them advantage.

Why Fort Save Helps

Our friend John Gillick was the founder of Castles & Chemo, a TTRPG charity. After gaming helped him through cancer, John channeled his passion for gaming into fundraising adventures for the American Cancer Society as well as game drives for children’s hospitals. While his organization went quiet following his passing in 2019, Fort. Save for Good hopes to both continue and expand upon its mission to give back through games.
