For over 20 years, the Joy of Music has been the Basalt Band’s premier fundraiser, performance, and social event. After a COVID-induced hiatus, the Joy of Music returned in 2022 with truly joyful performances by all 6th through 12th grade Band students and a large crowd enjoying dinner from a food truck, a silent auction, a cake auction, and musical camaraderie. The 2023 event promises more joyful celebrations of music-making and community. Proceeds raised will be used toward the purchase of new instruments: two marimbas and two tubas. The price tag for these four instruments alone is over $11,000.
