AJP was formed in March 2023 due to the dramatic rise in antisemitism within the American Psychological Association (APA) and within other scientific and mental health professional organizations.

The Association is the scientific and professional home of Jewish psychologists and their allies. Through our psychologically oriented webinars, Newsletter (Schmooze) journal (Kesher) and organized visits in Israel, we disseminate knowledge of the history of the Jewish people and its cultural and religious diversity and build a supportive community.

We encourage collaboration on scientific research and on interventions. Current scientific work focuses on defining antisemitism, on Jewish identity as perceived by Jews and by others, and the predictors of antisemitism. We Are developing programs to support therapists and emphasize the importance of examining the efficacy of programs to combat antisemitism. We are in the process of forging international collaborations on research and interventions, especially those that focus on Jewish Resiliency. Our work is just beginning!
