Welcome to our first AJP Silent Auction! Many thanks to Dr. Shayna Davis, Leslie Tolan, and Colleen Murray, for their indefatigable work in putting this program together for you, our members, and as a way to continue to strengthen our AJP community. We also thank our many donors who selflessly gave of themselves to our community.

As Jews, our worldview has been shaped by our experience of the intergenerational trauma of antisemitism. AJP was formed in March 2023 because of our profound concern for the present-day, dramatic rise in antisemitism, both nationally and globally.

Our AJP community celebrates our 4,000 year history, our religious practices and our secular, cultural traditions; our liturgy, literature, music, dance, languages of our ancestors and the diverse languages of our contemporary life. We are determined to confront antisemitism, understand it through innovative research, reduce its incidence with social and political action, and clinically treat the impact of antisemitism on all who have been affected by it. Above all, we celebrate the much-heralded, ebullient resilience of the Jewish people.

In March of 2025, we embarked on a Mission Trip to Israel, chaired by Lenore Walker and Shayna Davis, to hear about the trauma work of Israeli psychologists, social workers, and academic researchers in some of the most important institutions in Israel: the Weizmann Institute of Science, the University of Haifa, Hadassah Hospital, the Healing Space Resiliency Center, Ripples of Hope, and others. We hope to make annual, mission-centered trips to Israel to continually renew our commitment to our Jewish State and our commitment to the health professionals who are helping our people heal.

We publish a monthly newsletter, Schmooze with Steven Stein as Editor and a quarterly journal, Kesher, with Daniel Burston as Editor and Daniel Warner as Assistant Editor. Sarah L. Friedman chairs our important Research Committee and we are linking you to her most recent article that she co-authored with Carol K. Sigelman and Jonathan D. Lane, emerging from her work with other colleagues on conceptualizing a framework for building the developmental psychology of antisemitism. Many of our members have published articles and books [Please send links to your publications to our AJP Team: info@associationofjewishpsychologists.com.] Ester Cole, is Chair of the Education Committee, which has conducted 2 membership Surveys and developed posted resources on the website. She directs our AJP webinar series and has produced and chaired, to date, many fascinating webinars for AJP. Lenore Walker and Beth Rom-Rymer have given webinars on antisemitism for APA and other groups and a group of our members are working on a book, entitled: Handbook on Jewish Identity, Trauma, and Resilience: Clinical Psychology Perspectives. This book is being edited by: Lenore Walker, Cassandra Feldman, and Simon Ferber.
