Each year, artists create their own takes on the theme of our annual gala for a silent auction. Participating artists have created Oz-inspired artworks (most 12" x 12’’) that pay homage to the L. Frank Baum novel and the many fabulous retellings of the story. Artists were encouraged to blend elements of Oz with our own Frederick community.

All works are on view in person at the Delaplaine for the duration of the auction. All proceeds from the auction support educational visual arts programs at the Delaplaine Arts Center.

You do not need to attend the gala or come to the Delaplaine in person to participate in the auction. Electronic auction bids will be taken beginning September 13 and ending at 9:15 pm on September 27, the evening of the Gala. Bidding is only available electronically, and winners will be notified automatically by email or text message. Winning bidders can pick up their purchases at the Gala immediately after closing of the auction or at the Delaplaine during regular hours September 29–October 11.

This is a wonderful opportunity to support community visual arts education, especially for the underserved, at-risk, and marginalized populations served by the Delaplaine’s Community Engagement programs, and to gain a fun artwork by a local artist!
