Our Help for the Holidays program remains committed to serving children in kinship foster care, families who have successfully reunified, and young adults who have aged out of the foster care system. In 2025, we were proud to support over 1,100 children during the holiday season!

These families deserve our continued support. Kinship families often do not qualify for traditional financial assistance, yet they perform the vital work of raising relatives or community members. We also believe strongly in family preservation and provide essential resources to those navigating life after foster care, both reunified families and former foster youth.

As our program continues to grow, so does our need for community support. While our Christmas in July event has come to a close, the Help for the Holidays season is just getting started—and we still need your partnership to make this our biggest year yet.

BE PART OF THE MAGIC

⭐ Donate to support Alicia’s Closet Help for the Holidays program.

While most gifts are donated in-kind, financial support allows us to purchase hard-to-find items, wrapping supplies, and last-minute requests. Donations also allow us to shop directly for children who enter kinship care right before the holidays and can’t be matched with a sponsor in time.

Consider making a one-time donation today by clicking the link at the top of our page. Donations of any amount are welcome and appreciated!

🎀 Sponsor a Child and help make their holiday wishes come true! Individual donors are an important part of Help for the Holidays, with most children receiving gifts from donors who shop directly from their wish lists. We’re honored to have so many donors return year after year to shop for children in our program.

Shopping for a child is a $100–$125 commitment per child. If you are interested in being matched with a child, check back on October 26 for our donor match form!

🤝 Volunteer and help make sure every child in our community has a gift under the tree! Individual volunteer signups will open October 26.

Interested in bringing your business, organization, or group to volunteer together? Reach out to holidays@aliciascloset.org now to learn more about group volunteer opportunities.

🛍️ Online Shopping is as easy as click and buy! Gifts can be purchased online and sent directly to our collection site.

Our customized Amazon and Target wish lists will be coming soon! This is a great option for those who may not live locally but still want to purchase a specific gift or sponsor a child or children from afar.

BRING YOUR COMMUNITY INTO THE GIVING

✨ Sponsorship Opportunities are still open and available at multiple levels from $250–$5,000! Sponsoring Help for the Holidays is a meaningful way for businesses and organizations to give back to children and families in our community while engaging employees, clients, and customers in holiday giving—and gaining exposure for your organization along the way. Click HERE for more information or reach out to Kelsey at holidays@aliciascloset.org to learn more.

🎁 Cheer Boxes are a great way for businesses and community organizations to collect some of our most requested holiday gifts! Boxes can accept general gift donations or be customized to collect a specific in-demand item. Cheer Boxes must be returned by December 1. All hosting materials will be provided, including a festive holiday box and marketing kit.

🎄 Angel Trees offer a more personal way to engage your team or clients in Help for the Holidays by matching donors with children’s wish lists. Trees can be customized to provide opportunities to sponsor a child’s full wish list ($100–$125 commitment) or individual items ($15–$25 commitment). We provide everything you need to host, including pre-printed tags and a complete marketing kit. Tags are available starting November 1, 2026, and all gifts must be returned by December 1, 2026.
