Founded in 2019 by Indianapolis Colts 2025 Pro Bowl Linebacker Zaire Franklin, Shelice's Angels is a nonprofit organization dedicated to helping young women transform their interests into meaningful action. Our mission is to inspire and unlock the potential of the communities we serve by empowering the next generation of leaders through education, mentorship, and resources.

Shelice Highsmith Trailblazer Award Recipient

Shelice’s Angels is honored to recognize our 2025 Shelice Highsmith Trailblazer Award recipient, Sereena Quick, a community trailblazer who embodies extraordinary strength, resilience, and determination. This award, named in memory of Zaire Franklin’s late mother, Shelice Highsmith, celebrates those who, like Shelice, demonstrate unwavering courage and an indomitable spirit. Sereena's remarkable ability to persevere and thrive in the face of challenges inspires us all to do the same. The Shelice Highsmith Trailblazer Award stands as a tribute to Shelice’s enduring legacy and the power of leading by example with courage, perseverance, and grace.

Pillar of Progress Award Recipient

Shelice’s Angels is honored to present the 2025 Pillar of Progress Award to Muhammad Abdul-Hadi, an outstanding individual whose dedication, leadership, and visionary efforts have significantly advanced his community. This award recognizes resilience, innovation, and a commitment to social progress through advocacy, philanthropy, and impactful initiatives. Muhammad has committed him self to uplifting underserved communities, championing equity, and driving meaningful change. His work has served as a beacon of inspiration, paving the way for a legacy of empowerment, sustainability, and a brighter future for all, shining a light on the significant impact of having a second chance at life.

KEY PROGRAMMING AND ACTIVITIES

Shelice’s Angels Business Academy - An annual two-day retreat that focuses on entrepreneurship, offering students the opportunity to engage with Black business owners and participate in a competitive simulation, inspiring young minds and fostering a passion for running their own businesses.

Financial Literacy Summit - As a partnership with the Indiana Colts, Shelice’s Angels hosts a one-day summit for 30 students. They were taught the basic fundamentals of budgeting, investing, and borrowing. Through this initiative, a savings account with $250 was created for each student to give them a kickstart on their financial journey.

Day in the Life - Offers youth the unique opportunity to shadow professionals across various industries, providing hands-on experience that fosters career aspirations and supports professional development.
