ABOUT THE PCO:

The ECS Parent Community Organization (PCO) supports the ECS community (including students, teachers, staff, and families) by promoting active collaboration and engagement in the education and social well-being of ECS students, while also helping to provide supplemental resources and opportunities that support the school’s program.

The PCO Values…

Inclusion: Building community through an inclusive, kind, and positive approach

Communication: Acting as a hub for communication between families and the school

The PCO is responsible for coordinating and/or funding many of the experiences and supplemental programming you and your child have experienced at ECS, including educational enrichment such as school-wide improvements, classroom materials, extracurricular activities, etc. The group's fundraising efforts help bridge the gap between public funds and actual expenses, helping to make certain programs possible.

Funds raised at the Blooming Bash will be directly allocated to PCO activities, such as:

Mini-Grants, which have funded a variety of staff/student-led projects including: providing backpacks and sit-upons for every Intermediate School student to use while on Frick Park Field Studies outings; the establishment of the Black Student Union; athletic gear; garden supplies; musical instruments; new Finch Robots for 6th grade learning; among many more!
Annual support toward the schools’ health/nurse offices, student council, gardens, and field days
Teacher & Staff Appreciation
Used Uniform Collection and Re-Sale
Community Support, including the Helping Hands Fund and the Hope Drive
Family Social Gatherings (Fall Festival, Gingerbread House Event, Family Ice Skating Night, etc.)
