The Magic of Broadway, Unity, Arts, and Healing Comes to Chester through a Collaboration Between A "Felon and Festival Founder"

The City of Chester is set to host an extraordinary event in celebration of Martin Luther King Jr. Weekend, spotlighting unity and addressing critical societal issues. "I Have a Dream," a Broadway Gospel Musical by Josh Greenfield, will take center stage on Saturday, January 13, 2024, at the Downtown Caat Center located at 515 Avenue of the States, Chester, PA 19013. Doors open at 9 am.

This marks the first time in history that Chester has witnessed such a groundbreaking production, featuring a distinguished celebrity cast and crew including Pennsylvania Senator John Kane, Best-Selling Author Dawn Michelle Chamberlain, Herman LeVern Jones, Founder of the Nation Black Theatre Festival, Grammy Winner Dr. Gregory McPherson, The Lion King On Broadway's Kenneth Johnson Jr, Pulitzer Prize Winner Suave Gonzalez, House of Maci Lago, Landyn Dior Brightwell, Celebrity Drummer Kareem Thompson, Celebrity Boxer Damon Feldman, Celebrity Fashion Designer Rashad Calhoun, Councillman Calvin Bernard, Judge Lee Grimes, Pennsylvania State Representative Carol Kazeem, Mayor of Chester Stefan Roots, and Chester Police Commissioner Steven Gretsky and many more.

Behind the scenes, a compelling partnership has been forged to bring this historic Broadway production to Chester. The visionary, Formerly incarcerated best-selling author of "Cell To CEO," Dawn Michelle Chamberlain, has joined forces with the original show producers Herman LeVern Jones, Founder of the National Black Theatre Festival, and Grammy Winner Dr. Gregory McPherson of HBCU Delaware State University. The trio is committed to bringing a solid, revenue-generating childrens performing arts festival to Chester in 2025, "The International Black Children's Theatre Festival", mirroring the success Jones achieved when he founded the National Black Theatre Festival, which to date has generated over $500,000,000 in revenue.

Dawn Michelle Chamberlain’s passion for rehabilitative arts, entrepreneurship & 2nd Chances is the driving force behind this transformative initiative. Her goal is to reduce recidivism by creating business opportunities in the arts & entertainment industry for the formerly incarcerated, provide the community with healing & rehabilitation through the arts to improve the morale of the city of Chester, reduce gun-violence and boost tourism.

In addition to the spectacular performance, the event will feature a thought-provoking panel discussion, captivating storytelling, a silent art auction, and a generous free giveaway of Tablets with unlimited internet from National Wireless.

Produced by the globally acclaimed TheatreSouth Inc (501c3), alongside Chester's own Hooper Councill's Positive Potential Project Inc (501c3), Prison Productions LLC, Halo Marie Productions LLC, and Maci Lago Universe Inc (501c3), this collaboration exemplifies the power of art and community coming together for a purpose.
