Desert Stages Theater invites you to participate in our upcoming annual fundraising event … FIESTA! Our exciting event will include food and beverages, silent auction, fun games, future show reveals and unforgettable performances by past and present Desert Stages performers.

History of Desert Stages:

Desert Stages Theatre opened its doors in August 1995, founded by Gerry and Laurie Cullity with a vision that extended far beyond the stage. They embraced large cast sizes to ensure every child had a place to belong, while focusing on teaching not only theatre skills but essential life skills such as confidence, teamwork, and responsibility. From the beginning, parent involvement and a strong sense of community were central to their mission, creating a welcoming and safe space for all. Over the years, hundreds of young performers have come through its doors, many shaped by its thriving summer camp program that continues to flourish today.

Though we are no longer in our Desert Stages Theater building nor in the Fashion Square theater, we are very proud to continue the organization, and we are working to honor and carry forward this remarkable legacy set forth. We believe the next chapter of Desert Stages is going to be spectacular!

Mission Statement:

Desert Stages Theatre is a nonprofit community youth theatre dedicated to creating a safe, supportive environment where young people can thrive, learn, and grow — both as performers and as individuals. Our mission is to provide a creative space where youth can express themselves freely, build self-confidence, and develop a strong sense of empathy, kindness, and community.

What sets Desert Stages apart is our comprehensive, long-term approach to theatre education. We welcome performers as young as four years old and offer full-scale musicals each year. This allows our actors to grow within the DST family — many of our older teens evolve into leaders, serving as directors, choreographers, and mentors to younger performers. We emphasize teaching all aspects of theatre, from performance to technical skills, ensuring a well-rounded and immersive educational experience.

We hope you will join our FIESTA and be part of the DST Family! Let's celebrate the Past of Desert Stages and Support the Future!
