What is special about this venue?

This is the new property where Rescue + Residence is building out their programs. As we grow, the amount of undeveloped space will shrink and the infrastructure will grow. For the available amenities, please reach out directly to admin@rescueresidence.org for updates.

Are there any specific noise restrictions?

Quiet hours will be from midnight to 8am. Please keep outside music and conversation to a minimum. Generator hours are 8am to Midnight.

How good is the network connectivity at the location?

Cell coverage is solid for AT&T, Verizon, and T-Mobile. No other carriers can be confirmed at this time. We will provide WiFi in some parts of the event grounds.

How will camping work?

Ambulance campers will have designated parking areas within the overall event site. We are limited to 20 Ambulance Campers this year. Please sign up early! Tents can be provided for those who sign up for tent camping with additional coordination. Please be sure to reach out as soon as you can if this is something you need. If coordinated, they will already be set up, and site selection is first-come, first-served. Arrive early to claim your preferred tent location.

Is Desert jAMBOree open to all vehicles or just Ambulance Conversions?

Yes, including moto and tent campers! All vehicles can attend and park, Ambulance Campers are simply getting special location treatment. If you’re planning to camp in your vehicle, be sure to buy a camping ticket.

Do I need a 4WD vehicle?

Maybe... All designated driving areas on the property are solid. The main dirt road to the property can be a bit rough, is currently VERY soft sand, and you should expect to get bumped around and dirty. We are in the process of getting a local contractor to donate their services to repair the road. If you do have 4WD, you could be able to park in some of the more remote and difficult to reach parts of the property.

What should I bring?

Food, shelter, and water for 4 days and 3 nights. Warm clothes for the cool nights. Sunscreen for the warm days. Showers, water, and portos are on site, though you may not want to walk to get water all the time so we suggest bringing your own. Will will host a "potluck style" BBQ on Saturday and Monday. Tickets are available for "Family Style" breakfast each morning. Food trucks will be available on certain days and times (see schedule).

What shouldn’t I bring?

Please notify us in advance if you're bringing any weapons in your travel home. Do not bring anything illegal, and/or a bad attitude. Do not partake of illegal drugs while on the property. We reserve the right to ask anyone to leave at any time.

What should I do?

We encourage radical participation on the part of attendees: share your art, host a workshop, and get weird/creative/expressive. If you have some activity you would like to host listed on the schedule, let us know. There will be presenters with Q&A sessions, Yard Game competition brackets, Karaoke Competitions, and more. Find something you like and join in.

Can I come and go? Arrive late, leave early?

You are free to come and go, including leaving early, whenever you would like. However, ticket prices will not be adjusted or refunded.

Can I bring my pet?

Absolutely, but its behavior, including cleaning up any messes, is 100% your responsibility. (don’t put their poop in the portos). If your dog does not get along well with other dogs, for any reason, it is your responsibility to keep them secure and away from other animals, not the other way around. All pets MUST be and are REQUIRED to be leashed at all times. Failure to comply will result in you being asked to leave. There are often coyotes and mountain lions in the area. Keep a close eye on your fur babies.

Can we bring bikes / e-bikes / trail bikes?

Yes, bikes, e-bikes, and little motos like Trail 50’s are a great way to get around and explore the surrounding desert lands. Keep it below 10 MPH around the camping areas when off the main roads.

Are there toilets?

Yes, there are toilets and, if we sell enough tickets, we will arrange for portable toilets. Don’t put anything other than poop and toilet paper in any of the toilets. The toilets will be cleaned at regular intervals. Please consider making a donation to help cover the costs of toilets, trash, and cleanup.

What about fires?

We expect to host a campfire each night. If you want to have a fire nearer to your site, please keep all fires within a campfire ring at all times.

How is trash being handled?

This is beyond a "leave no trace" event, but a “leave it better than you found it” event. Pack out everything that you pack in, and if you see garbage or anything else lying around, pick it up. There will be large orange trash cans all around the property for you to dispose of your garbage. Many of the orange cans are for CRV (Aluminum, Glass, and Plastic drink containers). They will have a circle cut in the lid for your cans/bottles. Please pay attention and don't put trash in the CRV cans. Trash bags are available for participant use. Simply ask a member of the event staff.
