Please join us for our 2nd Annual Founder's Day Black Tie Gala presented by Smithfield Foods at the historic Fair Barn in Pinehurst on Saturday evening, March 29, 2025.

New this year: dancing! Due to popular demand, we will have dancing at the conclusion of the formal portion of the event.

The Gala will be held at the Fair Barn, one of Pinehurst's most unique event venues, and will bring together over 300 community members, military leaders, Veterans, and their families. Last year we raised $33,874.79!

Resources raised from our Gala will allow us to continue to meet the rising need in the Veteran community. We completed 40 home modification projects while also delivering home furnishings to 120 Veterans and their families across North Carolina. Stated differently, both the demand for our services--requests were up 106% last year--and the cost of delivering those services are up--$1,089.66 per ramp build and $1,714.25 per furniture delivery--while monetary donations as well as donations of household furnishings have slipped. Our Veterans and their families need your support now more than ever.

The evening will feature a menu prepared and served by the award winning Elliots On Linden and include the following:

Passed Appetizers
Vegetable Spring Rolls with sweet chili dipping sauce
BLT Waffles which will include cheese waffle, bacon, tomato, romaine and mayo

Plated Salad
Seasonal Spring Salad consisting of arugula, salad mix, strawberries, candid pecans, goat cheese and sliced radishes. maple and poppy seed vinaigrette

Plated Entree Options
Chicken Breast Wrapped in Prosciutto and Seared NY Strip topped with chasseur sauce mushrooms, tomatoes, tarragon, white wine and demi glace sauce. Also included with this option is olive oil and roasted garlic mashed potatoes along with steamed asparagus and carrots. Note: this option will appear as "Chicken and Beef" when you purchase your tickets.

Thanks to the amazing folks at Homewood Suites in Pinehurst, we've secured a limited number of rooms for a reduced rate of $124 per night for the evening of Saturday March 29, 2025.

The property is less than three miles from The Fair Barn and offers shuttle service to and from the event. Be sure to ask about the shuttle when reserving your room.

Thanks to generous donors our inaugural event this past April raised $33,874.79, which allowed us to deliver nearly 200 beds to formerly homeless veterans in 2024! This year our goal is $50,000.

Our inaugural gala brought together over 300 supporters from across the greater Moore County community to honor and celebrate the outstanding work being done by veterans, for veterans. As with our first gala, guests will be treated to a three course, plated dinner prepared by Elliots On Linden. The evening will once again include remarks from a distinguished military leader, a string ensemble from the Moore Philharmonic Orchestra, a heartfelt testimonial from a recipient of services from MMIA, and a one-of-a-kind silent auction.

Resources raised from this event will allow us to continue to meet rising needs of our veterans, like Illisha, who so bravely shared her testimony with guests at last year’s gala.

About Military Missions In Action

Founded in 2008, Military Missions In Action is a North Carolina founded and focused dedicated to assisting Veterans with disabilities, homeless Veterans and members of the Armed Forces, and their families through three main programs: Operation Building Hope, which provides creative home modification services and emergency repairs to ensure that Veterans and their family members with disabilities can live independently in their homes; Fill The Footlocker which provides support to forward deployed service members and military working dogs along with providing health and hygiene items, clothing, shoes, and blankets to unhoused Veterans; Homes For Healing which provides new and gently used household furnishings to assist Veterans, active-duty service members, those Veterans who were recently unhoused, and their family members in establishing housing stability; and Warrior Wagon, a ride share service that provides free transportation to and from appointments, the grocery store, and the pharmacy.
