Why Harvest on the Hill Matters

Every year around harvest season, we welcome friends, Gardeners, neighbors, and community partners to gather among the sunflowers and squash to celebrate urban farming in Akron. Your support keeps our programs growing strong, to ensure that we are able to deliver this gardening opportunity - which supports both the physical health and mental health of participants - to our Gardeners, their families and many more.

In 2025, Akron Cooperative Farms is:

Hosting more than 130 Gardeners and families at 150 plots at the urban farm in Akron's North HIll Neighborhood
Welcoming area students for hands-on farm field trips
Expanding our social entrepreneurship education, giving Gardeners a chance to grow and sell produce
Developing programming for a new Dig In! Summer Camp for kids
Hosting the Hapi Fresh Farmers Market every Wednesday (up to 700 visitors in a single day!), from July through September
Continuing to serve as a cultural and community hub for New Americans and North Hill neighbors, who share seeds, smiles, and growing wisdom year-round
