Fisher House Wisconsin

A Fisher House is a "home away from home" where military and veteran families can stay at no cost while their loved ones receive medical care at a VA or military hospital. These homes provide a comfortable, supportive environment, ensuring families can focus on healing rather than worrying about lodging expenses. The first Fisher House in Wisconsin opened at the Clement J. Zablocki Veterans Medical Center in April 2016. Since then, Milwaukee VA Fisher House has housed over 6,800 military and veteran caregivers, offering them a place of respite during challenging times. In addition, Fisher House Wisconsin collaborates with the national Fisher House Foundation and the Department of Veterans Affairs to raise funds and awareness for new Fisher Houses in Wisconsin, including the state's second House supporting the Middleton VA in Madison. Together, the Milwaukee and Madison Fisher Houses will provide 11,680 nights of free lodging annually, saving veterans and their families $2.3 million in out-of-pocket costs. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=gXHSQIxfDig

Custom Canine Service Dog Academy

A nonprofit organization of volunteer professionals and individuals who embrace the endeavor of creating and supporting lasting partnerships between highly skilled service dogs and the community of mankind with diverse disabilities and impairments, thus greatly enhancing their quality of life. Our PTS Service Dogs support individuals with anxiety, depression, and other mental health issues, and we are careful to ensure that each of our students is teamed with a dog that best suits that person's capability, lifestyle, mobility, personality, and psychological needs. We match each applicant with the dog that will be their partner, and the power of this partnership transforms both their lives.
