This year, Mass Mentoring Partnership has been given the opportunity to have FIVE runners participate in the Boston Marathon, and fundraise on behalf of the organization. We are thankful to our friends at ALKU for their continued support, and to their three team members who will run on behalf of MMP on April 15th.

Guest Speaker: Dave McGillivray

Running legend Dave McGillivray has increased the self-esteem of millions of people through his work as an entrepreneur, philanthropist, motivational speaker, author, and athlete. Dave is best known for his athletic feats including his 80-day trek across the United States, running the 3,452 miles from Medford, Ore., to Medford, Mass. in the summer of 1978 to benefit the Jimmy Fund. In addition, he’s received great acclaim for directing or consulting on more than 1,400 events throughout the world including the Boston Marathon, the Olympic Marathon trials, and the Olympic Games.

Mass Mentoring Partnership is the only state-wide training, research, and advocacy organization for Massachusetts mentoring and youth-serving organizations, committed to assuring that every young person in the state has access to caring and committed adults.

In MMP’s unique role as an intermediary organization, we provide the critical link between national evidence-based research and local programs that promote the quality and quantity of mentoring relationships. As a force multiplier, MMP invests in the support young people need by providing the tools adults require in order to truly show up for youth in a caring and consistent way by bringing research to practice and theory to action.

We provide tools, research, training, and best practices needed to help increase the capacity and quality of mentoring programs and youth-serving organizations across the state.
