Mercyhurst University’s School of the Arts houses the oldest major on campus, Art Education, listed

in the first catalog in 1926. It is also home to the D’Angelo Department of Music, the Dance Department,

Theatre Program, and Art, Design, and Communication majors. Our majors perform regularly in high-level

productions of Swan Lake, Midsummer’s Night’s Dream, Three Penny Opera, The Seagull, the Jazz

Ensemble, and various student performances. In the Art, Design, and Communication Department,

students are engaged in art-making for shows in our Cummings Art Gallery and problem-solving for

regional non-profits and businesses through design applications such as Logo Development.

The funds generated from the reception and auction will help support the exceptional faculty and

student body in their visual and performance research as well as workshop and audition attendance.
