What is a Mahjong Tournament?

Players will donate their time to learning and/or playing 5 rounds of Mahjong and pay the entry fee of $65. Instead of giving coins to the winners of each round, they will get points. Prizes for winners!

What Is Mahjong?

Mahjong is a tile game that has been played in America since the 1920s and is enjoying a huge wave of popularity again. Mahjong can be played by any group of two to four players. It is a challenging and strategic game with just enough luck included to keep every player on his or her toes. You do not have to know how to play Mahjong to enter the Tournament. Lessons will be provided by Classically KC as part of the event for those with little or no experience (a $45 value).

Schedule:

· 9:30 am - Registration

· 10:00 am - Play Begins

· 12:30 pm - Lunch Served

Ok, What's the Catch?

Well, there really isn't any catch. Each player will be required to do 2-3 things:

Give a day to play 5 rounds of Mahjong.
Purchase a ticket for $65. Your donation is tax deductible.
(Optional) Donate items or services for the Silent Auction/Raffle.
