Five years ago, a local resident realized that her neighbors were struggling with food insecurity. Wanting to do something, she decided to hand out food from the back of her car. Others noticed her efforts and wanted to help. Today, VHFP provides 150 families with healthy, nutrient-dense food once a week, 52 weeks of the year. We distribute enough food to make about 50,000 meals a year! VHFP's goal is also to raise awareness of hyper-local food insecurity. We wanted to make helping feel more accessible for community members and local businesses. To date, over 150 businesses, organizations, schools, and individuals have all contributed in some way. For our 5th Anniversary Benefit, everyone has stepped up again by donating the venue, helping us out with food and beverage, offering items for our very first silent auction, and helping to spread the word. We are so grateful for the support and strength of our community! We hope you can join us in celebrating five years. Even if you can't make the benefit, please consider making a donation.
