The primary goal of Empty Bowls is to raise funds for local food charities and to create awareness about poverty and hunger. The artisan stoneware bowls are yours to keep! In Empty Bowls communities worldwide, these bowls have become cherished collector’s items. The Union County Empty Bowls Project aims to cultivate a community that values the importance of caring for one another. By combining the therapeutic benefits of the arts with the joy of creative cooking, the Empty Bowls Project offers a multifaceted event with lasting impacts.

Part One: Creating! Glazing Bowls and Paint Night details:

We welcome ceramic artists and ceramic classes in schools to create and donate bowls to the project! 2026 Artists include: Jonathan Kesler @Earthly Arts Studio, Kyla Poling @Dog Paw Studio, Paige Bayer & North Union students, Mitzi Noland & Fairbanks students, Crooked Door Studio and Crooked Clay. $55.00 per guest for a personal experience to Glaze Your Own Bowl to be held at *Crooked Door Studio with instructors, Shawnna Sue Jordan and Tami Shepherd . A stoneware bisque bowl will be provided for this painting exclusive which includes your meal ticket to the community meal and you may keep or donate your piece of art!
Each meal ticket includes: your choice of a stoneware bowl to keep, unlimited gourmet bowl of soup, beverage, homemade bread, dessert

Cost: $35.00 per ticket for attendees over 5 years old (5 and under are free)
