Join us as we commemorate a historic milestone—the organization's 40th anniversary dating from our founding in 1985 by a group of brave and visionary community members committed to preserving and celebrating LGBTQ+ history, arts, and culture.

Hosted by crowd favorites Honey Mahogany and Sister Roma, Reunion is the GLBT Historical Society’s annual gala.

The event brings together hundreds of LGBTQ+ and allied community members from the San Francisco Bay Area and beyond, in support of the Society’s mission to collect, preserve, exhibit, and make accessible materials and knowledge to support and promote understanding of LGBTQ+ history, culture, and arts in all their diversity.

Reunion also recognizes the extraordinary contributions of individuals and organizations making a difference to our understanding of LGBTQ+ history and culture and improving the lives of LGBTQ+ community members.

This year, we will be presenting our History Maker Awards to community trailblazers Sean Dorsey & Cheryl Dunye.

The event will include a cocktail reception, three-course dinner, the program, silent auction, and the opportunity to connect with your community.

About the GLBT Historical Society

Founded in 1985, the GLBT Historical Society is a global leader in LGBTQ+ public history. The Society collects, preserves, exhibits, and makes accessible materials and knowledge to support and promote understanding of LGBTQ+ history, culture, and arts in all their diversity.

In 2011, the Society established and continues operating the first museum of LGBTQ+ history and culture in the United States. Through the Dr. John P. DeCecco Archives, the organization maintains one of the largest archives of LGBTQ+ historical materials ever assembled around the world, with more than 1,000 individual collections spanning over a century of LGBTQ+ history, many of which are freely accessible online.
