Our mission at Emerald M Therapeutic Riding Center is Hope, Renewal, and Growth- the meaning of the emerald gemstone. Through the use of equine-assisted therapies, we strive to bring hope into the lives of the people we serve, provide them with a renewed sense of self, and give them an opportunity for growth.

The children we serve are in the foster system, have been recently adopted, are in the throes of cancer treatments, are recovering from cancer treatments, are suffering from debilitating physical conditions, are coping with emotional or behavioral difficulties, are struggling with learning disabilities, are recovering from some form of trauma, and/or are the child of an active-duty member of the military, or disabled veteran.

Our services are rarely paid for by insurance. So, many families cannot afford this life-changing therapy. We are a non-traditional therapeutic option offered in a non-traditional environment, outdoors with horses. We offer a break from the sights, sounds, and smells of a clinical setting, and our horses provide limitless strength and a place of peace to our participants throughout their healing journey.

Our horses are true professionals who come from different backgrounds and have their own stories, many of them have experienced trauma, which allows them to truly bond with the children and offer strength and courage. Not every horse is cut out to be a therapy horse. It is an extremely hard job. Each of our horses is handpicked and they are professionals at what they do.
