Our History

Since 2001, Student Movement Against Cancer (SMAC) has empowered young people to turn compassion into action in the fight against cancer. What began as a single student-led effort at Scotch Plains-Fanwood High School in New Jersey has grown into an international movement, engaging thousands of students, educators, and supporters who believe that the next generation can play a meaningful role in ending cancer. Over 25 years, SMAC's chapters have raised more than $5 million for cancer research, local hospitals, and awareness organizations.
