Our mission is to preserve the Sausalito Woman's Club landmark clubhouse and facilitate access for the general public. It was the first historic city landmark in Sausalito, California and is listed on the National Register of Historic Places.

The historic clubhouse was designed by Julia Morgan, California's first licensed female architect. Julia Morgan was also the first and only woman to be awarded the prestigious American Institute of Architects Gold Medal.

The building still functions as a clubhouse, and is open to the public for docent-led tours. It boasts spectacular views of the San Francisco skyline and bay, and is located above Sausalito's Old Town where Sausalito's first homes and roads were built.

The “First Bay Area Tradition” design was likely influenced by the wooded site and views. The Club’s limited budget made redwood a logical choice.
