The Child Advocacy Center of the Finger Lakes (CACFL) facilitates child abuse investigations through a team of community partners in a child-friendly setting, offering support and hope to children and their families. We connect survivors and their families with services such as family advocacy, and mental health and medical professionals. We also offer free community and professional education on a range of child abuse prevention topics, such as body safety, consent and online safety.

Our vision is a child-focused center that facilitates a compassionate, multi-disciplinary approach to the treatment of child abuse so that child victims of alleged sexual and physical abuse can feel safe and will be provided with support to enable their healing process.

What our organization does:

The CACFL takes the role as the lead agency that coordinates, integrates, and facilitates a multidisciplinary team of professionals and provides the physical space where cases of child sexual and physical abuse, whenever possible and practical, are investigated, evaluated, and treated. Our organization facilitates child abuse investigations through a team of community partners in a child-friendly environment, offering support and hope to children and families.

This multidisciplinary team, known as the MDT, is a collaborative, inclusive, and team-oriented infrastructure whose primary focus is children and their families. Comprehensive services are provided by the MDT in one safe, child-friendly location. Each staff member at the CACFL and our partner agencies has the primary goal of providing the best services possible to children and families who are afflicted by sexual and physical abuse.

Our annual Gala is our main fundraising event for the year, which provides additional funding for our programs to increase our impact on children and families who have experienced physical and/or sexual abuse. This event focuses on our team of law enforcement, attorneys, CPS, and various other social services to give our team outstanding recognition for the hard work and effort they put into our communities. We also utilize this event to branch out to other communities to demonstrate what our organization does and why our work matters. We plan on having a guest speaker as well who has experience regarding child abuse in their profession. Our Shine Bright for Children Gala will take place on June 6th, 2025, at Ventosa Vineyards, Geneva, NY.
