Handcrafted Texas Two-Step Quilt

This beautiful, handcrafted quilt features the Texas Two-Step pattern and captures the true spirit of the Lone Star State. Thoughtfully designed and pieced together by Carol Cash and Caitlin Smith, the quilt showcases a variety of western-inspired fabrics including rawhide backing, burlap textures, woodgrain Texas stars, rustic barn doors, horseshoes, and playful tossed cowboys—each element adding character and charm.

The quilt’s intricate star and loop quilting pattern adds depth and movement throughout the piece, while the paper-pieced boot heels provide a striking focal detail that reflects the western theme of the evening.

One of the maker’s favorite details is the belt buckle cornerstones within the sashing, which were carefully cut and designed specifically to fit their place in the quilt—creating a unique and eye-catching accent that ties the entire design together.

From start to finish, this stunning quilt required approximately 100 hours of meticulous craftsmanship, making it not only a beautiful work of art but also a heartfelt labor of love.
