Founded in 2019, we are a foster-based non-profit 501c3 dog rescue that works to find forever homes for the misunderstood bully breed. Through local adoption and rescue partnerships we are giving these dogs their chance at a happily ever after. We're dedicated to our goal of reducing euthanasia rates of these dogs in Polk County.

Our county shelter was deemed per 2019 statistics as the #1 kill shelter in the state of Florida. We are working closely with Animal Control to change these statistics, ultimately working towards making Polk County a NoKill shelter. Currently, dogs deemed pitbull are rescue only.

Through education and practical care, we're changing the stigma that surrounds pitbulls and providing care. Spay and neuter is a huge part of stemming the flow of dogs that come in from the county to the shelter and we are actively working towards getting a county voucher program to help fund these surgeries. Though focusing on the bully breeds, at PCBP, every dog matters and we do not breed discriminate. We save any and every dog we can (and even a few cats!) while working to reduce the stigma. We currently receive no government funding and function strictly off community support and a few grants we receive. Every dollar makes a difference and we thank you for your support.
