About the Latine Musical Theatre Lab

Our work is done through in-house development opportunities, including writer’s cohorts, salons, and readings; education programs that bring knowledge and resources into our community; connections and partnerships with theatres and producers around the country in order to break down barriers erected by gatekeepers - and get writers’ work produced; and in-house producing, from project-specific producing support to full, in-house workshops and productions helmed by the Lab. Though our physical home is in NYC, we serve writers around the world, and seek to create change in every corner of our industry.

An organization of this nature also cannot exist without acknowledging that Latinidad represents a large umbrella of cultures, experiences, and forms of privilege. As such, we stand firmly committed to elevating the works of Afro-latinx; female; trans, and nonbinary folx; immigrants; those with indigenous roots; and the members of the LGBTQIA+ community.
