Founded in 2023 to serve King County, Pierce County and other areas of Washington State; Socks on my Hands Productions (SOMHP) seeks to bring performance opportunities to various diverse communities that will allow creative experimentation and exposure to the puppetry arts.

We hope to recruit future storytellers and empower them by exploring their creative force through the universal language of puppetry. Each created piece is the potential start to a new and more diverse generation of artists and puppeteers and self-enrichment. We also wish to awaken the passion in each individual who participates while supporting them both in creating a space and by offering support through access to professional puppeteers.

Our events are produced with the following goals:

1. To celebrate and promote the historical contributions of the puppetry arts of Washington State.

2. To produce top-tier events in areas of the Puget Sound where they may not be commercially sustainable.

3. To encourage and engage a diverse audience through entertainment and art to explore and develop their storytelling ability.

4. Create opportunities to learn and build creative skill sets that are essential for work, home, and health.

5. Offer the training and opportunity for a more diverse set of artists working in the puppetry arts.

6. To support the local creative economy in areas we produce by creating opportunities for performers, facility rentals, and hired services.

7. Entertain and delight the communities we engage and create opportunities for community participation and service.
