Jesus calls us to be “the salt of the earth” and “the light of the world” (Matthew 5:13-14)—preserving goodness, illuminating truth, and drawing others to God’s glory. Like salt that flavors and saves, His followers are called to season life with compassion; like light piercing darkness, they are called to reflect the Savior’s love. Jesus instructs: “Let your light shine before others that they may see your good deeds and glorify their Father in heaven.” (Matthew 5:16) This tree, “Salt & Light,” shines with that divine mandate—born at Christmas, Jesus, the Light of the World, entered humbly to empower us for eternal impact. Jesus said: “I am the light of the world. Whoever follows me will never walk in darkness but will have the light of life.”(John 8:12)
