WHAT IS MATCH MONTH AND HOW DOES IT WORK?

Match Month is a community giving campaign that helps local nonprofits build permanent endowment funds held at Your Community Foundation. This year, 50% of every donation/match will be added to the nonprofit's endowment, while the remaining 50% can be used immediately to support its mission. Endowment funds are invested for long-term growth, providing nonprofits with reliable annual income while preserving the principal for future generations.

Unlike direct donations that support only immediate needs, endowment gifts held at Your Community Foundation are invested to generate ongoing annual income for the nonprofit in perpetuity. By partnering with Your Community Foundation, nonprofits gain a long-term financial partner that helps turn today’s generosity into lasting support for tomorrow.

We manage and grow endowment investments through a diversified and well-balanced portfolio, reduce administrative burden by handling fund accounting, donor acknowledgments, tax receipts, and compliance, and strengthen fundraising results through coordinated marketing and outreach during Match Month. We also expand giving opportunities by enabling more impactful gifts, including appreciated stock and planned gifts, helping nonprofits grow both immediate support and long-term sustainability.

Thanks to the Patterson Family Foundation, every eligible gift made during November will be matched by up to 25%. To unlock the full match, our community must come together to raise $200,000 this year.

The more a nonprofit raises, the larger its share of the match and the greater its long-term impact in Allen County.
