Young People Travel Global Edge (YPT Global Edge) was founded with a simple but powerful belief:
when young people are given access, exposure, and guidance, they don’t just change their own lives they change communities and generations.

Founded five years ago, YPT Global Edge is a youth development organization serving students ages 12 to 23, dedicated to creating the next generation of global citizens. We intentionally expose young people to international experiences, leadership development, and real world learning paired with long-term mentorship that supports students from middle school through postsecondary completion.

Our Mission

To create globally minded, socially conscious leaders by expanding access to education, travel, leadership development, and career pathways for young people. We don’t just prepare students for the world we prepare them to lead it.

Who We Serve

YPT Global Edge primarily serves youth from historically underrepresented communities young people who often lack access to leadership development, global learning, and career exposure. Our work is rooted in equity and access. We believe potential is universal, but access is not and that is where our work begins.

What Makes Our Model Different

At YPT Global Edge, international travel is not a stand-alone experience. It is part of a comprehensive leadership ecosystem designed to develop confident, informed, and socially responsible leaders. Our programming integrates: Leadership training & long-term mentorship Financial literacy & entrepreneurship education Social innovation & problem-solving Community engagement & civic awareness Students are guided to identify challenges within their own environments, examine local and global issues, and design solutions that create real, measurable impact.

Building Global Leaders at Scale

In 2025, YPT Global Edge hosted its first International Youth Leadership Summit in Detroit, Michigan bringing together youth leaders, educators, and community stakeholders to engage in dialogue around leadership, civic responsibility, and global awareness. This milestone affirmed our role as a trusted leader in youth development and global education.

What’s Next - Introducing the PACE Program

PACE — Positioning, Activating, Cultivating, Engaging — is our newest leadership framework launching in 2026. Through PACE, students learn how to: Position themselves as informed, confident leaders Activate their voices around social and civic issues Cultivate empathy, resilience, and leadership skills Engage meaningfully within their communities and the world PACE prepares students not just for college and careers—but for lifelong civic participation and impact.
