Mainspring Narrative Films, a 501(c)(3) not-for-profit organization, is dedicated to producing educational documentaries that bring the past to life. Focusing on art, architecture, and cultural history, Mainspring creates films that illuminate forgotten stories and often uncover rare archival imagery and documentation. Our mission is to foster a deeper understanding of the modern world by thoroughly exploring the forces and people that shaped it.

Right now, we are seeking to raise at least $50,000 to keep our studio operating and ensure the continued production of compelling, research-driven films. Your donation will help cover some essential post-production costs, archival licensing, and general operating expenses.

Two major projects are currently in different stage of production:

Corsi – The World's First Super Model explores the life of Antonio Corsi, an artist's model who posed for many famous works of art, yet is relatively unknown today.
Curating Modernism examines the vanishing legacy of modernist architecture and the urgent need for its preservation in the 21st century.

Mainspring is led by award-winning producers Jake Gorst and Tracey Rennie Gorst. Their past work includes New England Modernism: Revolutionary Architecture in the 20th Century, Frey: The Architectural Interpreter, Modern Tide, Desert Utopia, and many other celebrated titles that have screened internationally, aired on public television and streamed on many platforms.
