Our year-end fundraiser has two parts: a local holiday silent auction and direct donations on this page through December 31.

Holiday Silent Auction: December 1 – December 17

Our Holiday Silent Auction runs from December 1 to December 17.
Bidding closes firmly on December 17 at 1:00 p.m. so people can use items as holiday gifts. This date will not be extended.

All auction items are for local pickup in Ithaca. Limited in-city drop off may be possible depending on volunteer capacity.

Our overall fundraiser continues through December 31. If you just want to support Zero Waste Ithaca without bidding on items, you can make a donation on this page anytime through December 31.

Zero Waste Ithaca is a grassroots organization driven by volunteers and our mission is to promote Zero Waste policies, culture, and environmental justice, working toward a thriving community that values people and the planet over endless consumption.

We work to stop waste at its source, build reuse systems, and confront industry-driven false solutions that deepen the plastics and toxics crisis. If you know us already, you know that our four big projects to advance our mission are the Reuse Sticker Program for Local Businesses, Opposing Toxic Synthetic Turf Projects, advocating for a Local Single-Use Package Ordinance and state policies, including Bring Your Own (BYO) bill amendments in the New York State legislature, and Opposing Other Toxic False Solutions. You can help by signing our petition and sharing it with your community.

We also organize community events, such as neighborhood cleanups, tabling at festivals, hosting film screenings, and bringing people together through creative zero waste events. Join us and help grow the zero waste movement in Ithaca and beyond.

Support ZWI Today. Your Donations would go towards supporting:

$5 – A nice cookie for a volunteer
$20 – T-shirt for a dedicated volunteer
$100 – Film rights (choose a genre you’d like us to screen) or a Cyclopure PFAS test kit
$200 – Venue cost for a community film screening
$500 – One lab test for PFAS in synthetic turf or a legal filing fee
$1,000 – Digital work (website, apps, and online tools)
$1,500 – Annual insurance coverage or a small stipend for key volunteers who dedicate significant time to essential work such as bookkeeping, digital support, and coordinating the sticker program.
