I’m calling this December auction Tales of the Glories, not because I think I’ve lassoed anything grand, but because every now and then a little light sneaks into my life like a stray dog that decides I’m the one worth following home.

These paintings—they came from the long afternoons when the world felt too heavy to lift,so I tried lifting a brush instead.

Some days that work worked.

Some days it didn’t.

But every canvas caught

a tiny flicker of something—

a memory, a prayer,

a joke the universe told me

when it thought I wasn’t listening.

Through it all, I’ve learned that glory rarely arrives dressed for the occasion. More often it looks like a mistake that turned out to be honest, or a color I didn’t mean to mix but needed more than I knew.

I’m doing this December auction because a year like this one ought to have some kind of exhale at the end of it—some gathering of everything I managed to salvage, everything that refused to quit on me.

Think of Tales of the Glories as a front-porch evening where I set out the stories I’ve been painting my way through—crooked, heartfelt, weather-worn things that somehow compelled me to carry my head a little higher.

And maybe—

if the wind’s right, and someone out there is looking for a reminder that the small stuff matters—one of these pieces might land with them like a song they forgot they loved, a tune they didn’t know had been humming in their chest all along.

That’s the brilliance I’m after.

Not fireworks—

just the steady shine

of something true.
