Breaking Cycles. Building Futures.

25 Years of Impact. The Next Chapter Begins With You.

Our 25th Anniversary Gala Is Officially SOLD OUT!

Thank you, ! We are grateful for the overwhelming support for BASICS International's 25th Anniversary Gala on November 7, 2026, in Harlem. While the celebration has reached capacity, our work continues — and we invite you to be part of what comes next.

25 Years of Changing Lives. And We're Just Getting Started.

Since 2001, BASICS International has worked to break cycles of poverty by addressing the barriers that prevent children and families from reaching their full potential.

What began as an educational sponsorship initiative in Chorkor, Ghana, has grown into a community-centered development ecosystem connecting education, nutrition, technology, workforce development, entrepreneurship, and youth leadership.

Our impact over 25 years includes:

6,000+ educational sponsorships helping children access education and stay in school.
Millions of nutritious meals supporting children's health, development, and ability to learn.
Nearly 1,000 digital certifications equipping young people with technology and career-ready skills.
International volunteers and partners investing time, expertise, and resources to strengthen communities.

But behind every number is a child whose future matters, a family working toward stability, and a community striving for opportunity.

Getting Children Into School Is Only the Beginning.

Keeping them in school, helping them succeed, and preparing them for life is our mission.

In the communities we serve, financial hardship, food insecurity, and child labor continue to threaten children's access to education.

That is why BASICS goes beyond paying school fees.

Our sponsorship and social intervention programs provide daily meals, after-school learning, vacation programs, mentoring, family support, and opportunities for personal development.

For older youth and young adults, our Community Digital Lab provides technology training and professional certifications, while our Hedzole social enterprise creates pathways to skills development, entrepreneurship, and economic independence.

And through Aklowah Youth Leadership & Learning, we are expanding opportunities for experiential education, innovation, and youth leadership, including reaching children in underserved rural communities.

We are not simply helping children attend school. We are building pathways from education to opportunity.

Our Next 25 Years Need You.

The needs are growing, and so is our commitment.

Every day, children depend on BASICS International for educational support, nutritious meals, safe learning environments, and the encouragement to imagine a different future.

Our next chapter includes expanding school sponsorships, strengthening school retention programs, incr
