Chicago doesn't need more people talking at each other. It needs more people who know how to listen. That's the work Heal Chicago has been doing, and this August, we're celebrating it the way it deserves: good food, good music, and a room full of people who believe a more connected Chicago is worth building.

What we actually do

Heal Chicago's core program is a four-week experience built around five things that are necessary for human connection:

Intercultural Development Inventory - Identifying and closing the gap between values and actions
Active Listening Training - Building empathy and understanding as a foundation for trust
Identity & Conflict Navigation - Using the Thomas-Kilmann Assessment to empower healthy dialogue
Grief & Resilience - Exploring personal and societal grief and its impact on our emotional cultural resilience
Exploring our Strengths - We practice real time engagement that unites rather than divides. Aligning our values with action

Why your gift matters

Every dollar goes toward strengthening and stretching what Heal Chicago can do:

Capacity building: Strong programs need strong infrastructure behind them. This funding helps us build the systems that let us do this work well and sustainably.
Outreach: There are Chicagoans out there who need this work and don't know it exists yet. Your gift helps us find them.
Bringing the program to universities: We want to reach people earlier, while they're still building the habits and instincts that will shape how they navigate conflict for the rest of their lives.

Our mission is to strengthen workplaces and communities by helping people build the communication, emotional resilience, and relationship skills needed to navigate conflict, foster collaboration, and lead constructively in a rapidly changing world.
