Join us for our fifth annual Awards Gala on December 14, 2024 from 5-10pm at Dumbo Loft (155 Water Street)! The year’s gala will honor distinguished poet Patrick Rosal as our Gala Honoree with an introduction by special guest Ross Gay.
Our other award winners include our Robin Romeo Award Winner, Elly Belle, our Denise Bell Award Winner, Theo LeGro, and our Yawp Poem of the Year winner—which will be determined at our Yawp Poem of the Year contest on December 6th. Other speakers include Angel Nafis, our featured faculty, xochi quetzali cartland, our featured fellow, Jay Deshpande and María Elisa Schmidt.
The evening will include a cocktail reception, dinner, dessert, coffee & tea, readings & remarks and of course—award presentations! Masks are recommended when not dining, and we will have masks available. Black tie optional.
You can purchase tickets or sponsor tickets to help us ensure our community can join us in the celebration. You can also reserve a table by donating at our sponsor tiers. These tiers help fund our programming and offset lower cost tickets we offer members of our community without the means to pay full price.
All proceeds from the event will support our fellowships, workshops, readings and operations of our community space. If you can’t attend, we would greatly appreciate a contribution so we can continue cultivating community and access to poetry across the borough and beyond.
This event will be livestreamed on our Givebutter page: https://givebutter.com/c/bkp2024
