Spark! Creativity is a nonprofit organization dedicated to making arts education accessible and available to youth as a catalyst for their personal and professional growth.

Spark! was created in response to the continued loss of arts education opportunities in public schools, particularly in communities where students may have limited access to hands-on creative learning during the school day. What began with pilot programs in Teaching Artists in Schools and youth arts camps and workshops has quickly grown into a broader network of school and community-based arts programming.

Today, Spark! partners with eight schools, bringing professional teaching artists directly into classrooms and expanding opportunities for students to experience visual art, ceramics, music, and other creative disciplines. Spark! is also launching a pilot music program to explore new ways to support instrumental learning and creative mentorship within schools.

Beyond the classroom, Spark! has expanded its youth leadership programming through the Spark! Youth Arts Council, giving young people a voice in shaping arts experiences, developing leadership skills, and creating public opportunities for other youth. The Council’s first major project, Where We Live: Youth Arts Exhibition, brings together young artists from across Western Washington to share work inspired by the places and communities they call home.

Through partnerships with schools, artists, families, funders, and community organizations, Spark! is building more than arts programs. We are creating spaces where young people can experiment, collaborate, build confidence, develop leadership skills, and see themselves as creative contributors to their communities.

Spark! Creativity believes every young person deserves the opportunity to create, express, and grow — and we are working toward a future where arts education is not an extra, but an essential part of every student’s learning journey.
