Resistance is how our communities have endured, organized, and demanded change in the face of injustice. It is how we build power, protect each other, and claim our rightful place in Virginia and beyond.

CIF’s Annual Dinner will bring together community members, donors, and supporters to honor the resistance that lives in every immigrant’s story—and the collective force we become when we organize together.

Purpose

This annual gathering is a tribute to the strength of immigrants across the state. It is a space to:

Recognize those resisting exploitation, criminalization, displacement and erasure.
Celebrate CIF’s role in organizing, defending, and uplifting immigrant voices.
Unite community and allies in the shared fight for dignity and justice.

Strengthen our base of support to fuel long-term resistance and sustain power building.

Who is CIF?

Centreville Immigration Forum (CIF) began in 2007 as a series of open dialogues within the Centreville, VA community about a growing population of migrant workers who congregated by the Public Library waiting for work. After years of organizing, surveying, and fundraising CIF became incorporated in 2011 and opened a Labor Resource Center December 2012. Since then the population served has transitioned to include families and women, however the largest demographic served is young to mid-aged men who identify as day laborers. In 2022, 95% of registered members identify as Hispanic, with the largest majority also identifying as Indigenous. Two percent are from other countries, and the remaining 3% are native born who struggle with similar barriers to employment.

CIF's programming promotes financial independence, racial equity, immigrant rights, wage justice, and economic mobility, – all while identifying and responding to immediate needs.
