Dear Neighbors and Friends,

We are reaching out to you, the residents of the North Shore and Glen Cove School Districts, to ask for your support of Cub Scout Pack 278, a local organization dedicated to shaping the next generation of leaders. Pack 278 consists of dozens of children from Kindergarten through 5th grade who engage in hands-on learning, develop essential life skills, and participate in meaningful community service projects.

What We Do:

Cub Scouts is more than just an extracurricular activity. It is a foundation for personal growth, character building, and community engagement. Under the guidance of dedicated volunteer leaders, our scouts learn:

Personal Safety & Wellness- Understanding how to stay safe, build confidence, and make smart decisions in everyday life.

Good Citizenship- Learning respect, responsibility, and the importance of giving back to their community.

Community Pride- Taking part in local events, service projects, and activities that make our towns stronger.

Friendship & Teamwork- Forming lifelong friendships while working together on projects, activities, and adventures.

Outdoor & Life Skills - Exploring nature, camping, hiking, and learning valuable skills like first aid, fire safety, and leadership.

How We Engage with the Community:

Our scouts participate in local parades, food drives, park cleanups, and community service projects that make a tangible difference in our towns. We also host fun and educational activities such as the Pinewood Derby, camping trips, and family-friendly events that foster teamwork, creativity, and outdoor adventure.
