The Auction

Ukraine has struggled to assert itself as a distinct country with its own language, culture, and traditions—not Soviet, not “little russia”--since the fall of the Soviet Union in 1991. Determined to keep a firm grasp on Ukraine, russia has never stopped meddling in Ukraine’s affairs.

Undaunted, Ukraine has made steady societal and political strides away from russia. As it slips further from russia’s grasp, russia’s tactics grow increasingly more vicious. In 2014, russia aided disgraced ex-president Viktor Yanukovych in a murderous attempt to put down the revolution that ousted him, then illegally annexed Crimea and fomented war in Ukraine’s eastern Donbas region.

Two years ago, russia launched a deranged full-scale war on Ukraine with the aim of finally erasing Ukrainian identity once and for all. Ukrainians, grimly aware that a future with russia is no future at all, are fighting back with everything they have: not just with weapons, but with all of their considerable heart, creativity, and ingenuity.

Many of the pieces in this auction started as russian instruments of death and destruction. Ukrainians turned them, or caused them to be turned, into means of fighting back.

Every piece embodies the unbreakable Ukrainian spirit, resourcefulness, and determination that will win Ukraine the war. The proceeds from every piece will help equip them to achieve their victory.

Shipping costs are calculated based on an average international shipping and insurance rate. Any overpayment can either be refunded or put toward UFL's mission to fulfill soldiers' direct requests.

The Raffle

- "Twisted russian mind"

This sculpture was actually the first one, Arcaist created. Made from the scraps of a russian Grad rocket, this sculpture simultaneously asks and answers the question “What is to be found in the mind of a human who fires a rocket into a hospital? It´s twisted...and rotten to its core.”

- "The pointy End"

Our raffle item for the ladies! Forged from a leftover piece of rocket scrap, The Pointy End honors the outstanding ability of the Ukrainians to adapt anything that falls into their hands to meet their needs, even machines and tools which seem to be beyond repair.

- "Eve of Destruction"

Our raffle item for the gentlemen! Arcaist thought the work for the Toretsk collection was finished, when he noticed a leftover piece of shrapnell. Its distinctive shape ignited an idea. So he heated up the forge again and formed that bottle opener.

With Western support dwindling thanks to russian disinformation and influence campaigns, and with donations dropping off everywhere as people’s attention begins to drift away, Ukraine is in its most precarious position since the start of the full-scale war.
