The proceeds of this auction will be split between the the Museum of the White Mountains and the Barbara S. Dearborn Art Scholarship at Plymouth State University.

The Museum of the White Mountains engages the Plymouth State University community and the broader public in conversations about the cultural, artistic, and environmental legacies of the White Mountains and Lakes regions of New Hampshire. The museum explores the region’s past, present, and future through high-quality exhibitions, interdisciplinary educational programming, and stewardship of our collections.

The purpose of the Barbara S. Dearborn Endowed Art Scholarship is to provide tuition assistance to a Plymouth State University, junior year student who is majoring in fine arts.

Barbara Dearborn was a professor in the Mathematics department at Plymouth State College for over 35 years until her death in 1996. Barbara enjoyed teaching, and many of former students have commented on her extraordinary teaching skills and her dedication to helping them learn. In addition to being a mathematics professor, Barbara was a passionate visual artist, an avid golfer, and devoted Plymouth State alumna. She was an adept visual artist who worked in painting, printmaking, and other media.
