Founded in 1999, the Veterans Medical Leadership Council continues to stand firm in their mission to help ensure quality medical and mental health care for Maricopa County Veterans and encourage initiatives that honor our Veterans’ contributions to the Nation. Through its Returning Warrior Program, the VMLC works closely with the VA Medical Center case workers to assist Veterans in Financial crisis by providing financial assistance for emergency needs not provided by the Federal and State Governments. The financial assistance is for rent, utilities, vehicle repair, food, clothing, transportation, etc. This assistance ensures families can remain together, allowing the Veteran to concentrate on healing, completing rehabilitation programs and finding a job to support their families while reintegrating back into civilian life. VMLC Charities also supports other Veteran organizations that provide direct services to Veterans, such us, the Arizona Stand Down, Central Arizona Shelter for the homeless, the VA Amethyst Clinic for Women, the Arizona State Veterans Home, Maricopa Community College Foundation, etc.
