Meet Jasmine

Meet Jasmine: Growing Into Her Future

Jasmine, a 16-year-old from Grand Rapids, joined Girls Who Lead™ unsure of herself and uncertain about what her future could look like. She was looking for opportunities to build confidence, develop practical skills, and connect with caring mentors who could help her see possibilities beyond her current circumstances.

Through Girls Who Lead™, Jasmine became involved in hands-on STEAM, gardening, sustainability, health and wellness, financial literacy, entrepreneurship, and leadership activities. As she learned how to plant, grow, harvest, and understand the journey from garden to table, she discovered that learning could be practical, creative, and connected to her future.

With guidance from caring adults and opportunities to work alongside younger girls, Jasmine developed her communication, teamwork, problem-solving, and leadership skills. She began taking greater responsibility for projects, sharing her ideas, and seeing herself as someone who could make a difference.

Through financial literacy and entrepreneurship activities, Jasmine also began exploring how her interests and skills could become future opportunities. She learned about budgeting, planning, career pathways, and the importance of turning an idea into action.

By the end of the program, Jasmine had grown more confident in her abilities and had developed a clearer vision for her future. She began to see herself not simply as a participant, but as a leader, mentor, creator, and young woman with possibilities ahead of her.

Girls Who Lead™ gave Jasmine more than activities. It gave her opportunities to grow, relationships that encouraged her, practical skills she could use, and the confidence to imagine a future she could help create.

She grew. She learned. She led. And she began to see what was possible.

This is the kind of impact Girls Who Lead™ is designed to create—helping girls grow themselves, grow ideas, grow opportunities, and grow community.

Our Campaign

Every girl deserves the opportunity to discover her strengths, develop her voice, explore her future, and know that she has the power to lead.

Girls Who Lead™, operated by Blue Diamonds Training & Consulting, Inc., is a leadership, mentoring, and out-of-school-time program for elementary, middle, and high school girls.

Our unique planting-to-table learning model uses gardening and self-sustainability as a hands-on classroom where girls connect STEAM, literacy, health and wellness, financial literacy, entrepreneurship, career exploration, mentoring, and leadership.

Girls will learn to plant, grow, measure, investigate, harvest, prepare, share, reflect, and lead.

But we're growing more than food.

We're growing girls who lead.
