The Fax Partnership (The Fax) works to support residents and businesses in East Colfax, and to keep the neighborhood vibrant and diverse.

Running a food and diaper pantry, helping small businesses access necessary capital, and running a shelter in collaboration with the mayor’s Road to Recovery program, The Fax is like the community it represents - hardworking, multifaceted, and committed to East Colfax. The Fax also works to provide vaccine access, improve business safety, and develop affordable housing - and the list can go on!

2026 has been a year of change in East Colfax, exemplified by the BRT construction bringing disruptions to traffic and small businesses along the corridor. The future is bright for Colfax, but there is a lot of work to be done to ensure that those who already live and work in East Colfax get to reap those rewards, instead of being displaced when infrastructure and investment come in. With a heavily immigrant population - 85% of The Fax’s clients identify as immigrants - this is a community that has been unduly targeted economically and politically, and yet they forge ahead.

The Fax is primarily funded by grants, but with federal funding cuts to many essential programs, there is more need and less money to support critical work in the community. On September 17th The Fax will host its annual fundraiser at East Fax Tap. There will be a taste of Colfax with local food, live music, and a silent auction with all proceeds benefiting The Fax’s operations. If you’re unable to attend but still want to contribute, please consider making a donation or purchasing a ticket on behalf of a community member.

“A first-time client came in after a friend recommended our services to him. His power had been shut off due to non-payment. Because of his immigration status he lost his work permit and his job causing him to fall behind on household bills. He was hoping to find a way to get his power back on for his family of 5, but didn’t know where to begin or what resources were available. After speaking with him and collecting the necessary information, I was able to apply and receive approval for utility bill assistance through Energy Outreach Colorado. That day his bill was paid, his power was back on, and after a visit to our food pantry to pick up an array of kitchen staples, his family was able to enjoy a warm, home-cooked meal.” - from Daniela, Fax Staff Member

Impact in numbers:

$1 of funding to the RSO can provide about 3 diapers to a family or 1-½lbs of food.
$100 donation would fund:
- A family with 1 child visiting the diaper pantry every month for a full year.
- 160lbs of food, or about 8 visits to our food pantry
- 12 kids receiving backpacks filled with school supplies
$250 would fund:
- A family visiting the diaper pantry and the food pantry every month for a year.
- 30 kids receiving backpacks filled with school supplies
$500 would fund:
- 2 families visiting both pantries every month for a year or 1 family visiting twice per month for a year.

Evening Agenda:

5:30pm: Doors Open! The silent auction will be digital and open to all ticket holders in advance of the event starting.
5:45pm: A Taste of Colfax - food from local restaurants will be brought out for all to enjoy.
6:00pm: Recognize the Colfax Legends - those who visited 40 or more businesses with their Fax Pass to support businesses along Colfax during the ongoing BRT construction.
6:30pm: Community Speeches - Monica Martinez, our executive director, and members of the East Colfax residential and business communities will share a few words.
7:00pm: The silent auction bidding will close and winners will be announced.
7:10pm: We will be doing a paddle raise to raise funds to support our programs, and if we reach our target we will also be able to donate a food-filled fridge to a community member.
7:30pm: The fundraiser formally ends, but attendees are welcome to stay and enjoy the atmosphere of East Fax Tap for as long as they'd like.
