La Feria ALTANTA showcases flamenco in the setting of a typical celebration in Spain. The event in Atlanta is modeled after La feria de abril of Seville, Spain, where dance and music are part of the annual ritual to welcome spring.

La Feria ATLANTA is presented with the generous support of donors whose tax-deductible contributions help pay for artist fees and artist travel expenses.

La Feria ATLANTA is more than a single-day event. It is a series that includes a wide range of outreach. High school and middle school students attend assembly programs, club meetings, and school-day classes where flamenco artists who are part of La Feria ATLANTA teach them the dances and songs that are part of the celebration in Spain. This year, we are excited to work with Dekalb School of the Arts in our outreach.

Also, visiting artists teach masterclasses for adults and work one-on-one with local flamenco aficionados to bring new perspectives and expand their range of high-level experience to foster continuing education and a sense of community that includes people from all over the world, from Atlanta to Spain.

So, what you see in performance is only a small portion of the work by artists while they are in Atlanta. We encourage you to support our artists and the people with whom they connect locally. Long after the artists leave, their lessons, performances, and smiles, inspire adults, teens, and children for a lifetime. It is a little way of transforming lives - a través de flamenco (by way of flamenco).
