For 76 years now, the Israeli government has been exterminating the Palestinian people, erasing their very existence. They have deliberately targeted Palestinian cultural landmarks, universities, museums, and civilian artists who keep Palestinian culture alive through their works.

Here in the US, our local governments, cultural institutions, and corporate media have aided in that effort by silencing voices that have shown solidarity for Palestinian resistance. Artists, media personalities, cultural advocates, and anyone with a voice and a platform have lost their careers and livelihoods for supporting Palestinians and the just cause of Palestinian self-determination.

Spotlighting art that envisions a free Palestine is a direct rebuttal to these attempts to silence voices that defend Palestinian life. This event aims to directly intervene in the complacency of our local governments and institutions by creating a safe space for artists and organizers to express their solidarity through creativity. Art is resistance because art is visibility.

Where are my donations going?
All net proceeds from this event will support Anera (95%) and their operations on the ground in Gaza, as well as Protect Palestine (5%) to further expand their mobilization efforts.
Who are the event organizers? What is "Protect Palestine"?
The event is organized by volunteers of Protect Palestine, a volunteer-run project backed by Altruisa, a 501©3 registered nonprofit whose mission is to build platforms that make it incredibly easy for individuals to find ways to take action. Like Altruisa's mission, Protect Palestine aims to provide resources in an easy platform, including 3-minute tasks, protest information, etc. Our priority has been to target and mobilize silent supporters to stand up against the genocide.

Since the launch of Protect Palestine in mid-November, our website has reached over 350,000 sessions with over 90,000 link clicks on our 3-minute tasks to contact politicians, sign petitions, and more. Our social media (@protectpalestineorg) has reached over 5.2 million people and continues to grow at a rapid rate.
What is Anera?
Anera is a 501©3 registered nonprofit helping refugees and others hurt by conflicts in Palestine, Lebanon, and Jordan. Specializing in immediate emergency relief, Anera is actively operating in Gaza despite the killing of an Anera staff member, Moussa Shawwa, recently.

To date, Anera has provided over 22 million meals and food parcels, distributed more than four million medical treatment, medicines, and healthcare supplies, and shipped 416 trucks of aid into Gaza in addition to providing tents, water, free healthcare clinics, and psychosocial support sessions for children in temporary camps.
Why Anera?
Anera is specifically focused on the region and has a strong presence on the ground in Gaza. Their approach of employing local staff not only provides opportunities for Palestinians, but also translates into an organization that is committed to staying on the ground and continuing to address both short-term emergency needs and long-term development in Gaza.

When does the auction end?
The auction runs until 9PM EST on May 5th, 2024.
What is bid increment? Reserve price? Buy now price? Automated bidding?
Bid Increment: The minimum amount you must add to the current price of a bid.
Buy Now Price: If you love the piece, the price to buy it immediately and take it out of auction! (Available on some pieces only)
Reserve Price: A hidden minimum price for the piece to be sold. If a piece does not meet its reserve price, organizers may contact the active bidders to discuss next steps.
Automated Bidding: Instead of entering a new bid each time you’re outbid, simply put the maximum you’re willing to pay, and automated bidding will keep bidding on your behalf unless it reaches your max!
If I win, how do I collect the artwork?
The gallery will be open on select hours during Monday and Tuesday (May 6th, 7th) for pick-up. If unavailable, our volunteers will do our best to coordinate hand-deliveries within New York City. If unavailable for hand deliveries, or located outside of NYC, you may be requested to provide a shipping label for the artwork.
Can anyone bid on a piece?
Yes! Anyone can join the auction!
