Have you heard of the phrase “If we build it, they will come.” inspired by the movie, Field of Dreams? Metro Deaf School in St. Paul is in the early stages of preparing to build a gym, which has been a dream since MDS moved to their forever home in 2019.

We again are hosting the annual Spaghetti Dinner and Silent Auction on Friday, April 18, 2025 at our school, with the theme, “If we build it, they will come.” This is our biggest fundraiser with over 500 people in attendance and more people attending every year.

We are proud that Metro Deaf School is one of Minnesota’s first public charter schools and is celebrating over 30 years of serving our community as an educational institution for nearly 175 students at present. MDS’ philosophy offers students who are deaf, deafblind and hard of hearing and their families a bilingual approach to education, valuing American Sign Language and English for instruction. The MDS Parent Teacher Group is a non-profit 501(c)3 organization and provides a forum for parents, teachers, staff and community members to connect, discuss, and support the mission, vision, and progress of MDS.
