We are incredibly grateful for every person who has donated here, shared Trevor’s story, prayed for him and helped carry our family through the last several months.

This Givebutter page will remain here as part of Trevor’s story and campaign history, but HunterSeven’s fundraiser is now the primary place to donate.

And we have reason to keep fighting.

We recently had to pause Trevor’s treatment for about a week and a half because funding ran out.

During that pause, we received the results we had been waiting for. The cancer indicators we were tracking moved significantly in the right direction, and Trevor himself told us:

“I’m doing better.”

Because people stepped up, Trevor was able to resume treatment.

There is still a long road ahead, but right now we have something incredibly important: hope, encouraging results, and a way to keep moving forward.

Trevor is 21 years old. He should be building his life. Instead, he is fighting for it.

On February 23, 2026, Trevor O’Neil was diagnosed with Stage IV gastroesophageal adenocarcinoma.

The cancer began where his esophagus meets his stomach and had already spread to his liver and lymph nodes by the time it was discovered.

Trevor began treatment in Massachusetts with chemotherapy and immunotherapy. When the cancer continued to progress and complications mounted, including hospitalizations, severe pain, difficulty eating and the need for a feeding tube, our family began searching for additional options.

That search brought Trevor to Arizona for specialized treatment.

Trevor’s treatment is showing encouraging signs

Trevor is now undergoing an intensive, individualized treatment program in Arizona.

His care has included chemotherapy, targeted medications, IV therapies, extensive testing and supportive treatment. His doctors have also recommended highly targeted interventional radiology procedures designed to deliver treatment directly to specific areas of cancer.

After months of setbacks, we finally have evidence that Trevor is responding to treatment.

Mayo Clinic has reported improvement in the cancer in Trevor’s liver.

His latest Northstar Response blood test also showed a 1.4-fold decrease in his Tumor Methylation Score, from its peak of over 10,000 to 5,625. This test measures circulating tumor DNA in the blood, and the report states that the decrease suggests Trevor’s tumor fraction has decreased since his previous test.

These results do not mean the fight is over. Trevor still has Stage IV cancer and needs continued treatment.

But for the first time in this fight, we have measurable evidence moving in the direction we have been fighting for.

The cost of keeping Trevor in treatment is enormous

Trevor’s treatment in Arizona costs approximately $10,200 per week.

Additional specialized procedures have added tens of thousands of dollars to the cost of his care.

Our family has stretched every resource we have to keep him in treatment. We have relocated across the country, rearranged our lives, fundraised, researched, advocated and continued moving forward through every setback.

Now we need help keeping that progress going

We have now exhausted the funds available to continue paying for Trevor’s treatment.

After finally receiving encouraging results showing improvement, the last thing we want is for his treatment to stop because we ran out of money.

Every donation helps us keep Trevor in treatment and gives him the chance to continue building on the progress we are finally seeing.

No amount is too small. Hundreds of people giving a little can become another week of treatment, another procedure and another chance.

This is still Trevor’s life, not just his diagnosis

Trevor joined the Navy as a teenager and serves aboard USS Constitution.

He is a son, brother, stepson, boyfriend, nephew, friend and sailor.

He is 21.

Cancer has already taken an enormous amount from him. We are doing everything we can to make sure it does not get to decide how hard we fight back.
