Trevor is 21 years old.

He’s someone people love being around. He’s easygoing, steady, and always there when it matters.

In late February, we were all blindsided when Trevor was diagnosed with stage 4 esophageal cancer.

Our family is doing everything we can to support him. Even Trevor’s little sister has been pitching in, in her own way, to “fight the spider” as she calls it.

Trevor has been receiving treatment at Mass General Hospital, with chemo and immunotherapy treatments every other week. Mass General is one of the best hospitals in the country for cancer treatment but the “standard of care” is simply not good enough in this situation. He needs and deserves more.

Trevor is currently navigating a serious cancer diagnosis, and our family is exploring multiple treatment paths and medical opinions as we determine the best way forward.

This process already includes significant out-of-pocket expenses related to advanced testing, consultations, travel, treatment options, and time away from work.

At the moment, we are pursuing additional genomic testing and exploring several possible avenues for Trevor’s care, including both conventional and integrative treatment options. As anyone who has walked through something like this knows, plans can evolve quickly as new information comes in.

Our goal is to give Trevor access to the best possible care and relieve some of the enormous financial burden surrounding this process so that decisions can be made based on what is best for him, not simply what is financially possible.

Trevor went to Essex Tech, where he played football, was on the wrestling team, and built the friendships that are still a huge part of his life today.

After graduating, he chose to serve in the Navy and was stationed on the USS Constitution, something that reflects exactly who he is: steady, dependable, and always willing to show up for something bigger than himself.
