What happens when funding for the Arts is cut?

The House of Dance Foundation — our registered 501(c)(3) — did not receive anticipated grant funding this year. This directly threatens our annual events and the community programs that make HOD so special.

Our flagship event: the House of Dance 12 Year Anniversary Battle on Saturday, September 26, 2026, is among the programs at risk.

Our Plan for Progress

We are launching this project to give our local dance community the events they deserve. Our goal is to continue preserving, growing, and advancing Hip Hop experiences in the Twin Cities. Here is what we are building together:

Short term: Raising $25,000 for the 12 Year Anniversary Event. The funds will directly support our efforts to connect world-renowned dancers to teach, adjudicate and engage with our local community of Hip Hop and Street Style Dancers. Sponsorship and donor funding also allows us to invest in larger prize pools, enhanced event production, professional videography and photography, and other initiatives that elevate the overall experience.
Long Term: Raising $100,000 to fund House of Dance Foundation's mission: facilitating and hosting community events, providing flexible scholarships for individual dancers, and acting as fiscal sponsor to generative Hip Hop choreographers working in the Twin Cities.

How You Make Moves with Donating

When you give to this campaign, you're investing in the future of our hip hop dance community. Your donation helps local artists, aspiring dancers, enthusiasts, and audiences gain access to world-renowned instructors, transformative workshops, competitive experiences, and exceptional performances that educate, inspire, and elevate the culture throughout the year.

Let's Get Moving

We are currently at a turning point for our foundation. We have raised enough to cover the initial cost to compensate hired talent for the 12 Year Anniversary, but we need your help to cross the finish line and get them here. Ready to jump in? Let's do this and keep our community dancing!
